Trevor Simms

Trevor Simms founded Birchwood Investment Management Limited in 1982. His holistic approach to investment planning, and wide experience in working with many different types of portfolios for individuals and corporates, mean clients benefit immediately from sound and considered advice at all stages of their financial planning. 

Recognised within the financial planning industry as an expert in his field, and a regular speaker at company functions and conferences, Trevor’s relaxed approach strips away much of the jargon and hype to make the important issues of investment planning understandable to a wide range of audiences. He has a particular interest in developing well-constructed investment portfolios within pension schemes or trusts designed to reduce inheritance tax

His goal is to provide a professional financial planning and investment management service to all clients, whether they are employees, business owners or those wishing to maximise their retirement income. Over the past 23 years Trevor has built a like-minded team of professionals at Birchwood Investment Management, who are committed to providing a high quality analysis and knowledge-based service to their clients.

Wesley Fox

Wesley Fox joined Birchwood in 2005, and brings with him over ten years of knowledge and experience in the financial and mortgage markets.

Offering truly independent financial advice, his expertise spans the needs of both private and corporate clients and offers a bespoke, individually tailored service. He prides himself on researching and recommending the highest quality of advice, which incorporates comprehensive appraisals of current and future financial requirements.

The amalgamation of his own successful practice with Birchwood has enabled Wesley and the Birchwood team to join forces to offer clients access to wider skills and services. Sharing Birchwood’s beliefs and values in relation to customer service, he provides proficient advice in investments, pensions and more specifically, mortgages.

Getting the right mortgage deal can mean making some pretty difficult choices. Wesley can help to interpret the variety of repayment methods, interest rate deals and other factors that influence decision-making and is able to offer professional advice without being tied to any single mortgage lender.

Margaret Gray

A director at Birchwood Investment Management Ltd for over 12 years, Margaret Gray offers a wealth of experience to personal and corporate clients in personal financial planning and investment management.

Her knowledge of the investments market, and down to earth friendly approach, provides clients with peace of mind in all aspects of their financial planning, whether they are seeking financial protection, retirement planning or financial plans to aid life and career changes. Her ability to take a holistic view and provide considered and constructive plans has benefited many hundreds of clients over her career.

Margaret also specialises in advising clients who may be facing a career change as a result of redundancy and works closely with many outplacement organisations to provide advice and presentations to cover aspects such as state benefits advice, pensions advice and investment options for redundancy packages.

Cheryl Willis

Cheryl has been an adviser with Birchwood Investment Management Ltd since 1993, providing clients with experienced advice in all aspects of personal financial planning and more specifically pension’s expertise.

Cheryl’s methodical approach and experience in all areas of pension planning, occupational pension transfers, investment planning and protection planning provides clients with total peace of mind in all of their financial affairs.

Whatever stage of life clients are at, Cheryl’s goal is to help them find the right financial solution with the least amount of fuss. That's why she believes that explanation, demystification and plain speaking are important in everything she does.

Cheryl has a genuine commitment to meeting her clients’ projected goals and expectations, periodically reviewing them as circumstances change and offering guidance wherever she feels that performance can be enhanced.

Steve Hawes

Steve Hawes is a specialist investment analyst at Birchwood Investment Management Ltd and provides support to both advisers at the company and clients, in respect of fund management.

His experience and approach to fund and asset management is one of mature enthusiasm, energy and honesty gained over many years in the financial markets. His commitment to think outside the boundaries and secure the widest and best choices is, we believe, unrivalled.
