Birchwood Backs Winners in Fund Manager Awards

Investment specialists Birchwood Investment Management Ltd are celebrating after a “magnificent seven” fund managers which it recommends to clients triumphed in prestigious financial awards.

The winners of the 2008 Investment Week Fund Manager of the Year Awards were announced at a high-profile ceremony at London’s Royal Albert Hall earlier this month, with the managers of funds recommended to Birchwood clients taking the honours in seven out of the 17 main categories. They were:

• Angus Tulloch, First State Asia Pacific
• Robin Geffen, Neptune Greater Russia
• Chris Rice, Cazenove European
• Stephen Harker, SG Japan Core Alpha
• Richard Woolnough, M&G Corporate Bond
• Neil Woodford, Invesco Perpetual Income
• Harry Nimmo, Standard Life Investments UK Smaller Companies

Birchwood-recommended fund managers were also short-listed for two more awards while the firm is not active in the eight other award categories.
